Responsible and Sustainable Sourcing
We trust ourselves in making life better every day. At Kalahari Ocotillo, We dream to deliver and be the proud leader in Responsible and Sustainable Sourcing
We are dedicated to utilizing sustainable procurement techniques while keeping an eye on our relationships with suppliers and while making choices regarding our goods and supply chains. We expect our suppliers to follow our pledge to do business in a moral, secure, and accountable manner. We, as a company and through business entities, use our commercial partnerships and promote collaboration with other partner organizations to achieve these goals and industry best practices. While sustainable sourcing goes further than conformance to interact in and enhance the state of sustainability, which can include areas like honorable living standards or weather patterns practices, responsible sourcing necessitates meeting or complying with accepted levels of ethical or responsible practices in areas like human rights or pollution.
At Kalahari Ocotillo, We follow 3 steps to Responsible and Sustainable Sourcing
Visible and Quantifiable Conformance – Responsible Sourcing must be able to show that the good or service was obtained from sources that are responsibly managed and from vendors that abide by public and quantifiable standards. These standards should follow best practices as outlined in pertinent international rules for them to be taken seriously.
Track and Trace – Knowing the identity of the providers is essential for connecting measurements or KPIs. Claims of ethical sourcing are prevented by opaque supply chains with unknown sources. Alternatives to tracking every farmer are possible if supply chains with small farms are involved.
Assurance Method – The acceptable and reliable measures of assurance used in the credible demonstration of responsibility must show that the data are monitored and verified in a way that reduces the possibility of misrepresentation or fraud. Such assurance strikes a compromise between the demand for reliable data and due diligence and the need to keep expenses reasonable. To achieve this balance, a variety of data sources may be used, such as assessments done by suppliers themselves, e-verification of uploaded files and other information, map overlays (such deforestation maps), and certain field audits.
Responsible sourcing is complemented by sustainable sourcing, which goes above and beyond it
Sustainable sourcing stands out because it is less transactional and more involved in achieving a goal as a whole. Together with preventing harm, it works to raise the performance of the supply chain’s participants on important social, ecological, and economic issues that affect people’s quality of life and the environment’s overall well-being.
In order to carry out our project for ethical sourcing, we are committed to:
- Develop efficient management systems for the business to maintain high standards for procurement.
- Create a strategy to address acknowledged ESG issues.
- Assess and assess the risk of adverse effects on the ESG distribution network.
- Engaging with them and making sure they are aware of and sensitive to ESG concerns is necessary if we want to ensure that our workers, suppliers, and other stakeholders share our goal of maintaining a sustainable supply chain.
We strive to reevaluate our methods and sustainable and responsible sourcing plans on a regular basis.
